Pancakes
03:27
|
|||
One a half pound of flour that I put in a bowl
Some bakin' powder, some sugar and some oil
I pour in the milk, like I saw you in my youth
After makin' a well, but the dough doesn't get smooth.
I wish you'd told me which flavour you were using,
'cause I'm searching your kitchen but it's not helping,
I'll add some lemon peel and juice
Or maybe some rum, I don't know what to choose.
'cause now it's too late
Too late to ask your recipe
And now it's too late
Too late and I will never make pancakes... like you
And after a while, I'm trying to cook them on a hot frying pan
No matter how much dough I use, how long I let it in there
As long as I keep watching them, they don't burn
But in a second, they turn black, I wish I had learned
'cause now it's too late
Too late to ask your recipe
And now it's too late
Too late and I will never make pancakes... with you

You Belong to the Sky
03:48
|
|||
Ten years ago
Oh these tears wouldn't have fallen
They would start here inside your eyes
And then freeze into mid-air
Half-way to the ground.
(You belong to the sky)
Ten years ago
All you could see was colored in grey
There was a heavy coat of cold darkness
That would hide everything from your eye
And bury it into the ground.
(You belong to the sky)
So forget about wings and jump
In that stormy river that's life
You will drown, maybe you'll sink for good
But at least, you will have lived a life.
You belong to the sky.

Anaïs, Anaïs

Just one night and beer
And we're leaving
We're flying far from here
You told me my eyes were The Feeling
Yours are the Joy,
Anaïs !
Yesterday I didn't know you,
Tomorrow we're flyin' to Argentina
I know we've got to take that flight !
Anaïs, Anaïs,
It isn't easy,
Anaïs, Anaïs,
What great things are ?
Anaïs, Anaïs,
It is crazy,
Anaïs, Anaïs,
Lucky we are. Lucky we are !
We will miss our loves so much
But it's no excuse not to live our lives
And we have got one year from now on
To learn to speak Spanish,
Prepare to fight,
And win the Lottery,
Or rob a bank !
Yesterday I didn't know you,
Yet Heaven sent me two friends, when I didn't believe in them
Praise you Saint-Aubin !
Anaïs, Anaïs,
It isn't easy,
Anaïs, Anaïs,
What great things are ?
Anaïs, Anaïs,
It is scary,
Anaïs, Anaïs,
So we're alive.
Anaïs, Anaïs,
I've got no money,
Anaïs, Anaïs,
I've got my guitar,
Anaïs, Anaïs,
It is crazy,
Anaïs, Anaïs,
Lucky we are. Lucky we are !

I'll be safe and sound tonight
There is Odile by my side.
She sure knows how to make things hard
But I just can't seem to get her out of my mind.
Honey, what do you say ?
Is that alright ?
Is that okay
To have two women ?
In your house.
There's also Cecile
She drives me mad
She makes me do things
I never thought were in my head.
All day long, again and again,
We get so dirty and then we take a shower or two.
Honey, what do you say ?
Is that alright ?
Is that okay
To have two women ?
In your house.
And when we go outside
People see Denise
She's oh, so strange !
Noone can really get her,
So I don't really talk about her much,
Except to my friend Emilie,
And I know someday soon,
I'll have to break up with her.
Honey, what do you say ?
Is that alright ?
Is that okay
To have two women ?
In your house.

Off your Shoulders
04:06
|

I don't need to drink an expensive wine
A plain glass of water and I'll be just fine
As long as there's a roof over my head
And whether or not it is mine, mine, mine
'cause we won't carry a single thing into the ground
So why wait 'til the graveyard to let it all slide, slide, slide
Off your shoulders
So I'll wait in this state of mind
And see what happens
Next, I don't need to be a spoiled wife
No mountain of jewelry will make me feel fine
I just need my freedom and some air
And a bit of human warmth when I'm losing my head
'cause we won't carry a single thing into the ground
So why wait 'til the graveyard to let it all slide, slide, slide
Off your shoulders
